Imagine yourself nestled in the trees, listening to the ocean at your doorstep on a 25 acre private island. This unique island is a ten minute walk over a sandspit connected to Chesterman Beach, near Tofino. If you’re in need of something out of the ordinary and want to relax, this is the place for you. In the Tofino area there are many restaurants, boat charters, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, helicopter rides, and so much more.
Tombolo Sweet Our main cabin consists of two units, the caretakers unit and Tombolo Sweet. Tombolo Sweet is a self contained two room unit with solar power for lights only, a propane heater, outside hot water shower and compost toilet. The bedroom is one level up and has a wonderful view of Chesterman Beach and the island. Off the bedroom is a private sun deck where you can relax. Your kitchen contains everything you need, but there is no microwave or dishwasher. This non-smoking unit is just right for two adventurous adults. Our studio has been built for guests to relax and unwind west coast style. After a mid morning walk along Chesterman Beach pull up a deck chair, grab a book or just sit and enjoy our southern exposure, maybe even see a whale or two. The Studio has breathtaking views from all sides and the sunset can even be seen from the bedroom. One of our last remaining lighthouses on the BC coast on Leonard Island can be seen from our rock deck outside the bedroom. Life couldn’t get much better than this. Our trade mark has been to keep everything in its natural state so the Studio has been built around the rocks. There is a woodstove, solar panel for lights only, outdoor hot water shower, compost toilet, BBQ, queen bed and propane stove. (There are no electrical devices.) This is a non-smoking cabin. Take a ferry ride from Vancouver to Naniamo. From Nanaimo, follow the signs to Port Alberni, and from there follow the signs to Tofino. The trip takes around three hours from Nanaimo. Payment information A non-refundable one night deposit is required, and payment is due in full 30 days prior. Check in is 3 p.m., check out is 11 a.m.
